Typically, prediction market odds reflect a wisdom-of-the-crowd perspective, often differing from initial sportsbook lines. Sportsbooks set odds to balance their risk and ensure profit, while this market represents the collective belief of informed traders. Early on, you might find discrepancies, but as more information becomes available – like injury reports or weather forecasts – the prediction market tends to converge towards a more accurate assessment of the game’s likely outcome. This can sometimes lead to better odds for informed bettors compared to traditional sportsbooks.

The price of these shares fluctuates based on supply and demand, directly reflecting the implied probability of each outcome. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now.
