This market focuses on determining which team will score the most points in the third quarter of an upcoming professional football game. It reflects the competitive performance of each team during a specific segment of the match, highlighting short-term scoring ability rather than overall game outcome.
The market resolves based on which team scores the most points during the third quarter of the designated professional football game. If Philadelphia scores more points than Los Angeles in that quarter, the Philadelphia outcome resolves to Yes. If Los Angeles scores more points than Philadelphia, the Los Angeles outcome resolves to Yes. If both teams score an equal number of points during the third quarter, the Tie outcome resolves to Yes, and all team-specific outcomes resolve to No. Only points scored during the third quarter count toward the resolution, and the market is independent of the final game result.
Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd, often differing from initial sportsbook lines due to the influence of public opinion and specialized knowledge. Sportsbooks set their odds to balance action and ensure profit, while this market allows traders to express their own probabilities. If a significant number of informed bettors believe a sportsbook has mispriced a team's chances, the prediction market may show a different probability. It’s common to see the odds on Kalshi shift as new information becomes available and more people trade.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism. Traders buy and sell contracts representing each outcome – either the Rams winning the 3rd quarter or the Eagles winning the 3rd quarter. The price of each contract reflects the market’s collective probability of that outcome occurring. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate, the prices adjust to reflect the latest information and sentiment. The closer we get to the game, the more volatile the prices may become as new information and potential catalysts emerge.
This market resolves around Oct 4, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Specifically, the official results from the game will determine which team won the third quarter. The team with the highest score at the end of the third quarter will be declared the winner of this market. Traders who correctly predicted the winning team will receive a payout based on the final price of their contracts at the time of resolution.
Several factors could influence the price movement of this market. Any news regarding key player injuries for either the Rams or the Eagles would likely have a significant impact. Changes in weather conditions, particularly if they favor one team’s playing style, could also shift the odds. Unexpected coaching decisions or strategic adjustments announced before the game could also move this market. Finally, any late-breaking news or analysis from sports analysts could influence trader sentiment and lead to price fluctuations.
