Typically, prediction market odds offer a different perspective than those found at traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks often incorporate a 'vig' or commission into their odds, while Polymarket allows traders to directly assess the probability of an outcome. This can lead to discrepancies, as the 'wisdom of the crowd' on Polymarket may assign different probabilities than professional oddsmakers. It's common to see prediction markets reflect public sentiment more closely, while sportsbooks may be influenced by factors like liability management and sharp action.
