Often, prediction market odds reflect a different perspective than those found at traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks typically incorporate a 'vig' or commission into their odds, ensuring a profit margin. This market, however, is driven purely by the collective predictions of traders, potentially leading to more accurate probabilities, especially as new information emerges. Discrepancies can arise from differing levels of expertise, information access, and biases between the two types of bettors. It's common to see prediction markets move independently of sportsbook lines, reacting to signals that sportsbooks haven't yet fully priced in.
