Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks often set initial lines based on expert analysis and incorporate a profit margin, while this market allows anyone to trade and express their beliefs. If a significant discrepancy exists between prediction market probabilities and sportsbook odds, it might indicate that the market perceives information differently or anticipates factors not fully accounted for by sportsbooks. It's important to remember that both represent probabilities of an outcome, but are derived through different mechanisms.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism. Traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the likelihood of a particular outcome. The price of these shares directly reflects the implied probability of that outcome. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate, the price adjusts to reflect the collective assessment of the event. The more shares purchased for a specific outcome, the higher its price, and the greater the implied probability. This dynamic pricing ensures the market remains responsive to new information and changing sentiment.
This market resolves around Oct 23, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the official result of the Kozachuk vs. Kovalchuk match, as reported by the governing sports body. The platform will verify the result against publicly available and reliable sources to determine the winning outcome. Traders holding shares in the winning outcome will be entitled to a payout, while those holding shares in the losing outcome will forfeit their investment.
