Frequently asked questions

Prediction market odds often reflect a different perspective than traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action and ensure profit, incorporating a margin for themselves. This market, however, is driven purely by the collective wisdom of traders willing to put their capital at risk. As a result, prediction market odds can sometimes diverge from sportsbook lines, potentially offering value to informed bettors. It’s common to see prediction markets more accurately reflect the true probabilities of outcomes, particularly when there's significant public information available and a robust trading volume.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the outcome. The price of a share directly corresponds to the implied probability of that outcome occurring. As more traders buy shares in a particular outcome, its price increases, and vice versa. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. This dynamic pricing ensures that the market reflects the most up-to-date collective intelligence of all participants. The market depth and trading volume influence how quickly prices adjust to new information.

This market resolves around Oct 12, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the official result of the Kovshun vs. Troian match, as determined by the governing sporting body. Traders will be able to see the final outcome reflected in the market, and winning shares will be redeemable according to the market’s rules. The platform will verify the outcome against established sources to ensure accuracy and fairness for all participants.

Several factors could influence the price of shares in this market. Any news regarding player injuries, changes in match scheduling, or significant performance updates for either Kovshun or Troian could cause shifts in trader sentiment. Unexpected announcements about playing conditions or strategic changes could also impact the market.
