Frequently asked questions

Often, prediction market odds offer a different perspective than traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action and incorporate a profit margin, while this market reflects the wisdom of the crowd. If a significant difference exists between the two, it could indicate that prediction market traders believe the sportsbook is mispricing the probability of a particular outcome. It’s common to see discrepancies, especially in events where public opinion strongly diverges from expert analysis. Examining both can provide a more well-rounded assessment of potential outcomes.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the likelihood of each outcome. The price of a share directly corresponds to the implied probability of that outcome occurring. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate, the price adjusts to reflect the collective expectation. The market’s price is determined solely by supply and demand; there are no external factors influencing the pricing process. This dynamic pricing allows for a real-time assessment of the event’s potential outcomes.

This market resolves around Oct 31, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the official result of the Kovshun vs. Kyienko match, as reported by the governing sports authority. The platform will verify the result against publicly available data to determine which outcome corresponds to the actual event result. Traders holding shares in the winning outcome will be paid out according to the final market price at resolution.

Several factors could influence the price of this market. Any news regarding player injuries, changes in coaching strategies, or even weather conditions could shift trader sentiment. Unexpected results in related matches, or significant media coverage focusing on one player’s performance, could also drive price movements. Public opinion, as reflected in social media and sports news, can also play a role, particularly if it deviates from initial expectations. Monitoring these signals can help you understand potential shifts in the market’s probability assessments.
