Generally, prediction market odds tend to reflect a wisdom-of-the-crowd effect, often proving more accurate than traditional sportsbook odds. This is because prediction markets allow for continuous trading and incorporate new information quickly. While sportsbooks set initial lines based on analysis, this market allows the crowd to adjust probabilities as new developments arise. It’s common to see discrepancies, especially before an event, as the market digests information differently than bookmakers. However, as the event approaches, the odds on Polymarket often converge with those offered by sportsbooks.
