Frequently asked questions

Prediction market odds often reflect the collective wisdom of a diverse group of forecasters, potentially differing from those set by sportsbooks. Sportsbooks establish lines based on statistical models and their own risk assessments, while this market allows anyone to trade on their beliefs about the outcome. This can lead to discrepancies, especially when public sentiment strongly deviates from the sportsbook's initial assessment. It’s common to see prediction markets incorporate information and insights that sportsbooks may not immediately factor in, resulting in potentially more accurate probabilities as the event nears.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the outcome. The price of a share directly corresponds to the probability of that outcome occurring, as perceived by the market participants. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate and new information becomes available, the price adjusts to reflect the evolving consensus. This dynamic pricing ensures that the market remains responsive to changes in expectations leading up to the event. The current price reflects the aggregated predictions of all traders on the platform.

This market resolves around Oct 23, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the official result of the Kotiash vs. Maltsev match, as reported by recognized sports authorities. The platform will then determine the winning outcome and distribute payouts to those who correctly predicted the result. Traders should monitor official sources for the final result to understand how this market will be settled. The resolution process aims to be transparent and based on objective evidence.

Several factors could influence the trading activity and price movement in this market. Any news regarding player injuries, changes in match scheduling, or updates on player form could significantly impact predictions. Unexpected announcements about strategies or team compositions could also shift sentiment. Furthermore, public opinion and analysis from sports commentators can influence trader behavior. Major upsets in related matches or tournaments could also indirectly affect this market, as traders reassess the probabilities based on broader trends. Monitoring these signals is crucial for understanding potential price fluctuations.
