Frequently asked questions

Prediction market odds often reflect the collective wisdom of a diverse group of traders, potentially offering a different perspective than traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks set their lines based on statistical models and expert analysis, while this market is driven by individuals betting their own capital. It's common to see discrepancies, especially early in the market lifecycle, as prediction markets can incorporate information and insights that sportsbooks may not immediately account for. However, as the event approaches, the odds on Polymarket tend to converge with those found at major sportsbooks.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism. Traders buy and sell shares representing their belief about whether a hole-in-one will occur during the Compliance Solutions Championship. The price of these shares fluctuates based on supply and demand, effectively creating a real-time probability assessment. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. This means the price reflects the aggregated sentiment of all participants, and it's constantly updating as new information becomes available or opinions shift. The current price indicates the market's implied probability of a hole-in-one being scored.

This market resolves around Oct 5, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Specifically, the resolution will depend on whether any golfer achieves a hole-in-one during official tournament play at the Compliance Solutions Championship. The result will be determined by reviewing official tournament records and broadcasts to verify any instances of a hole-in-one. The market will then settle based on whether a hole-in-one occurred or not, as officially documented by the tournament organizers.

Several factors could influence the price of this market. News regarding golfer form, particularly if a known long-shot player is playing exceptionally well, could shift sentiment. Weather conditions at the tournament venue are also a significant factor, as wind and rain can affect the difficulty of the course and the likelihood of a hole-in-one. Unexpected course changes or modifications announced by tournament officials might also cause movement. Finally, any significant bets placed on Polymarket could also create price fluctuations, especially with larger volume.
