Often, prediction market odds reflect a different perspective than those found at traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks incorporate a 'vig' or commission into their odds, ensuring profit regardless of the outcome, while this market allows traders to directly assess probabilities. If a significant difference exists between the implied probability on Polymarket and sportsbook odds, it may indicate disagreement about the relative strengths of the competitors or differing interpretations of available information. It’s common to see prediction markets outperform traditional odds, especially when a large amount of informed trading occurs.
