Prediction market odds often reflect the collective wisdom of a diverse group of traders, potentially offering a different perspective than traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbook odds are typically set by professional oddsmakers, while this market is driven by individuals making their own predictions. It’s common to see discrepancies between the two, especially as new information emerges or public sentiment shifts. Comparing the odds can be a useful exercise for informed decision-making, but remember that each represents a different form of forecasting and carries its own inherent biases.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in different outcomes.
