Frequently asked questions

Generally, prediction markets like Polymarket often reflect information beyond what's captured in traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own analysis, aiming to balance action on both sides. This market, however, aggregates the wisdom of the crowd, incorporating a wider range of data and perspectives. While sportsbook odds provide a baseline, the probabilities expressed here can sometimes diverge, especially as new information emerges or public sentiment shifts. It's common to see differences, particularly in events where subjective factors play a significant role.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism. Traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the likelihood of each outcome. As more people buy shares in a particular outcome, its price increases, indicating growing confidence. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of a share directly translates to an implied probability – a higher price means the market believes that outcome is more likely to occur. This dynamic pricing ensures the market reflects the collective intelligence of all participants, constantly adjusting to new information and insights.

This market resolves around Oct 12, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the official result of the Khomenko vs. Kolos match, as reported by recognized sports authorities. The platform will verify the result against these sources to determine which outcome is declared the winner. The final price of shares in the winning outcome will converge towards 100%, while shares in the losing outcome will approach zero. Traders will then be able to claim their winnings or account for any losses.

Several factors could influence the price movement of this market. Any news regarding player injuries, changes in coaching strategies, or even weather conditions could shift trader sentiment. Unexpected results in related matches or tournaments could also impact perceived probabilities. Furthermore, significant betting activity – a large influx of volume on one side – can quickly move the market. Public statements from key individuals involved in the match, or even shifts in expert analysis, could also serve as catalysts for price changes before Oct 12, 2026.
