Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from those offered by traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks often set initial lines to balance action, while this market’s prices are driven purely by supply and demand among traders expressing their beliefs about the outcome. If a significant number of traders believe a particular result is more likely than implied by sportsbook odds, the price in this market will adjust accordingly, potentially offering an edge to informed participants. It’s common to see discrepancies, especially before major events or when new information emerges.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism, where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the likelihood of a specific outcome. The price of each share directly corresponds to the implied probability of that outcome occurring. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate and express their views, the price fluctuates, reflecting the collective assessment of the event’s potential results. The market’s price is determined entirely by trader activity and isn't influenced by external factors or pre-defined odds.
This market resolves around Oct 12, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the official result of the KHL game between Barys Astana and Sibir Novosibirsk, as reported by the KHL’s official website or other widely recognized sports news sources. The market will settle to 100% for the winning team, and 0% for the losing team, based on the final score of the game. Traders holding shares in the winning outcome will receive a payout equivalent to their shareholding.
Several factors could influence the price of this market before resolution. Any news regarding player injuries, team performance, or coaching changes for either Barys Astana or Sibir Novosibirsk could significantly shift trader sentiment. Unexpected announcements about game location or time could also play a role. Furthermore, general news about the KHL, or even broader sporting events, could indirectly impact trading activity. Major shifts in public opinion, as reflected in sports news and analysis, are also likely to move this market.
