This market assesses how many points will be scored in a specific quarter of a college football game between Kentucky and South Carolina. Participants predict whether the combined score will exceed certain thresholds, focusing solely on performance during that quarter.
All markets resolve based on the total points scored by both teams combined during the third quarter of the Kentucky vs South Carolina college football game scheduled for October 3, 2026. Each market has a specific threshold: if the combined third-quarter points exceed the stated threshold (2.5, 5.5, 7.5, 10.5, 12.5, 13.5, 16.5, 19.5, 20.5, 23.5, or 27.5 points), the market resolves to Yes; otherwise, it resolves to No. For all markets, only points scored during the third quarter count. If the game is postponed but commences within 48 hours of its original scheduled start time, the markets remain open and resolve based on the official final result. If the game does not start within 48 hours of the original scheduled time, all markets resolve to a fair price. Generally, prediction market odds often reflect the wisdom of the crowd, potentially offering a different perspective than traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and aim to balance action on both sides, while this market allows anyone to express their belief about the outcome. It’s common to see discrepancies, particularly before significant events or when public opinion strongly favors one outcome. These differences can arise from varying levels of information and analytical approaches applied to the same event.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism, where traders buy and sell contracts representing their beliefs about the outcome. The price of a contract reflects the probability of that outcome occurring, as perceived by the market participants. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate and new information becomes available, the price adjusts dynamically, providing a real-time assessment of expectations. The current price indicates what traders are collectively willing to pay for a contract that pays out if their prediction is correct.
This market resolves around Oct 3, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The final score of the 3rd quarter of the Kentucky vs South Carolina game will be used to determine the winning contracts. The resolution will be based on official game statistics, ensuring a transparent and accurate outcome. Traders will then receive payouts based on their positions in the market and whether their predictions aligned with the verified result.
Several factors could influence this market leading up to the game's conclusion. Any news regarding player injuries, changes in coaching strategies, or even weather conditions could shift trader sentiment. Unexpected performance in the first half of the game, or key plays during the 3rd quarter itself, will likely cause significant price movements. Public perception and media coverage can also play a role, as they influence the overall flow of traders into and out of the market.
