This market assesses various thresholds of points scored in the second half of a college football game between Kentucky and South Carolina. Bettors can choose from different point totals to predict whether the combined score will exceed specific benchmarks.
The market resolves based on the total points scored by both teams in the second half (including overtime) of the Kentucky vs South Carolina college football game scheduled for October 3, 2026. Each market has a specific threshold: if the combined second-half points exceed that threshold, the market resolves to Yes; otherwise, it resolves to No. All markets consider only points scored in the second half and overtime of that half. If the game is postponed but starts within 48 hours of the original time, the markets remain open and resolve based on the final result. If the game does not start within 48 hours, all markets resolve to a fair price. Kalshi is not affiliated with the NCAA, and all trademarks remain property of their respective owners.
Generally, prediction markets and sportsbooks often arrive at similar probabilities, but they do so through different mechanisms. Sportsbooks set odds based on their internal models and aim to profit by balancing action on both sides. This market, however, reflects the collective wisdom of traders who are incentivized to accurately predict the outcome. Discrepancies can arise due to differing information, biases, or simply variations in how each assesses the probability of the event. It’s common to see prediction markets move faster to incorporate new information than traditional sportsbooks.
This market resolves around Oct 3, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the final score of the second half of the Kentucky vs South Carolina game is verifiable from credible public reporting. The total points scored by both teams in the second half will be used to determine whether the Over or Under contract will pay out. The official game statistics from a reputable sports data provider will serve as the source for the final point total. Traders will be able to see the final result and any payouts on Kalshi following the game’s completion.
Several factors could influence trading activity and shift the price of contracts in this market. Any news regarding player injuries to key players on either the Kentucky or South Carolina teams would likely have a significant impact. Changes in weather conditions, particularly if they affect the style of play, could also move the market. Furthermore, in-game performance during the first half, such as a dominant offensive showing by one team, could lead traders to adjust their expectations for the second half total. Public sentiment and any late-breaking analysis could also play a role.
