Prices on Polymarket and Kalshi can differ due to several factors. Polymarket and Kalshi can show different implied probabilities for the same outcome because of liquidity, fee structure, participant mix, and how each venue defines the contract. Each platform attracts a different pool of traders with varying expertise and risk tolerance. Additionally, the specific market structure – the types of contracts offered and the fees charged – can influence pricing. For example, one platform might offer a more liquid market for a particular outcome, leading to tighter spreads. The differing volume – $299,157 overall – also plays a role, as lower volume can result in greater price volatility and divergence between the two venues. Currently, the differing leading outcomes reflect these variations.
