This set of markets tracks how many points each team scores in an upcoming college football game, allowing participants to speculate on different scoring thresholds being met or exceeded.
All markets resolve based on the official final point totals for each team in the Kent St. vs Sacramento St. college football game scheduled for Oct 30, 2026. If the game is postponed but starts within 48 hours of the original time, markets remain open and resolve using the updated result. If the game does not start within 48 hours of its scheduled time, all markets resolve to a fair price. Each market has a specific point threshold for each team; if the team's final score exceeds that threshold, the market resolves to Yes, otherwise No.
Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action and incorporate a profit margin, while this market is driven purely by traders expressing their beliefs about the outcome. Discrepancies can arise due to differing information, biases, or simply the dynamic nature of a prediction market responding to new information. It's common to see this market move independently of sportsbook lines, especially as new information becomes available closer to the event date.
On Kalshi, this market is priced using a continuous double auction. Traders buy and sell contracts representing each possible outcome – in this case, whether Kent State and Sacramento State will each exceed their respective point totals. The price of each contract reflects the market's current assessment of its probability. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate and new information emerges, the prices adjust, providing a real-time estimate of the likelihood of each team’s performance. The market depth shows the available contracts at different price points, indicating the level of demand and supply.
This market resolves around Oct 31, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the final team scores from the Kent State versus Sacramento State game are verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the official statistics for each team’s total points scored during the game. The market will determine which outcomes (over/under for each team) align with the official results. Traders holding contracts on the correct outcomes will receive a payout of 100, while those holding contracts on incorrect outcomes will receive nothing.
Several factors could influence the price movement of this market. Any news regarding key player injuries or suspensions for either Kent State or Sacramento State would likely have a significant impact. Changes in weather conditions, particularly if they are expected to affect scoring, could also shift the market. Furthermore, updates on team strategies or coaching decisions, as well as any late-breaking news related to team morale or internal issues, could all contribute to price fluctuations in this market before it resolves.
