Prediction market odds, like those found on Polymarket and Kalshi, often reflect a ‘wisdom of the crowd’ that can differ from traditional sportsbook lines. Sportsbooks set odds based on their own models and need to account for profit margins, while this market is driven purely by traders expressing their beliefs. This can lead to discrepancies, especially when public sentiment strongly diverges from the sportsbook’s initial assessment. However, both offer probabilities of the same underlying events, and arbitrage opportunities can sometimes arise between them. Examining both sets of odds provides a more complete picture.
Prices on Polymarket and Kalshi can diverge due to several factors. Polymarket and Kalshi can show different implied probabilities for the same outcome because of liquidity, fee structure, participant mix, and how each venue defines the contract. Each platform has a different user base, trading incentives, and liquidity, which can influence price discovery. Furthermore, the volume traded on each platform is distinct—currently $4,334 overall—and differing levels of participation can create temporary imbalances. These differences aren’t necessarily contradictions, but rather reflections of varying perspectives and trading dynamics within each market. It's common to see slight variations even for the same event across different prediction markets.
This market resolves around Nov 10, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Resolution will be based on the official result of the KBL championship series between KCC Egis and Goyang, as declared by the Korean Basketball League. The platform will verify the result against publicly available sources to determine the winning team and finalize the market. Traders should monitor official KBL announcements for the definitive outcome that will trigger market settlement.
Several factors could influence the price of this market before Nov 10, 2026. Key player injuries or suspensions to either KCC Egis or Goyang would likely cause significant shifts in probabilities. Unexpected changes in team performance during regular season games, coaching decisions, or even public endorsements could also impact trader sentiment. Major news stories surrounding the teams or the league, such as controversies or rule changes, could also introduce volatility. Monitoring these events will be crucial for anyone looking to trade in this market.
