Typically, prediction market odds offer a different perspective compared to traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks often incorporate a 'vig' or commission into their odds, which represents their profit margin. This market, however, is driven purely by the collective predictions of traders, potentially leading to more accurate probabilities, especially as the event approaches. While sportsbooks may initially set odds based on expert analysis, this market dynamically adjusts based on real-time information and the wisdom of the crowd. It's common to see discrepancies between the two, reflecting differing assessments of the likely outcome.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism, where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the outcome. The price of a share directly corresponds to the implied probability of that outcome occurring. As more traders buy shares in a particular outcome, its price increases, and vice versa. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The current price reflects the aggregated sentiment of all participants, creating a real-time forecast of the playoff series. This dynamic pricing allows for rapid adjustments based on new information or changing perceptions.

This market resolves around Oct 21, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the winner of the KBO Playoff series between the Doosan Bears and LG Twins is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the official results declared by the KBO (Korea Baseball Organization). The market will settle to 100% for the winning team and 0% for the losing team. Traders holding shares in the winning outcome will receive a payout equivalent to the final price of those shares, while those holding shares in the losing outcome will receive nothing.

Several factors could significantly impact this market. Any news regarding key player injuries, changes in pitching rotations, or unexpected performance in early playoff games would likely cause price fluctuations. Weather conditions, especially if they impact game scheduling or playing conditions, could also be a catalyst. Furthermore, significant media coverage or public sentiment shifts could influence trader behavior and, consequently, the odds. Major upsets in other playoff matchups could also indirectly affect this market by altering the perceived strength of the remaining contenders.
