Frequently asked questions

Typically, prediction market odds reflect a wisdom-of-the-crowd perspective, often differing from initial sportsbook lines. Sportsbooks set odds to balance their risk and ensure profit, while this market represents the collective belief of informed traders. If there's a significant discrepancy, arbitrage opportunities may arise, driving the prediction market odds closer to what more informed bettors believe is the true probability. It’s common to see this market adjust more rapidly to new information or changing circumstances than traditional sportsbooks.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the outcome. The price of a share directly corresponds to the implied probability of that outcome occurring. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate, the price converges towards a consensus view. This differs from traditional betting where odds are set by a bookmaker; here, the market *itself* determines the odds based on supply and demand for shares.

This market resolves around Oct 26, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the official result of the Karpisek Ondrej vs. Maly Petr match. The platform will look to official sources to determine the winner, and the shares will be settled accordingly. It’s important to note that the outcome is determined by the real-world event, not by any subjective assessment or opinion on Polymarket.

Several factors could influence the price of shares in this market. Any news regarding player injuries, changes in playing conditions, or updates on their recent performance could shift trader sentiment. Unexpected announcements about team strategies or even pre-match interviews revealing a player's confidence level could also have an impact. Major upsets in related matches or tournaments could also cause traders to reassess their probabilities, leading to fluctuations in the market price.
