Frequently asked questions

Prediction market odds often reflect the collective wisdom of a diverse group of traders, potentially differing from those set by sportsbooks. Sportsbooks establish initial lines based on statistical models and expert analysis, aiming to balance action on both sides. This market, however, allows anyone to express their view, and the price adjusts as more information becomes available and opinions shift. While sportsbooks may adjust odds based on significant news or betting patterns, prediction markets can incorporate a wider range of factors and potentially reveal insights not immediately captured by traditional oddsmakers. It's common to see discrepancies between the two, especially before an event begins.

The price of a share directly corresponds to the probability of that outcome occurring, as perceived by the market participants. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate and new information emerges, the price fluctuates, reflecting the evolving consensus. The market’s price is determined solely by supply and demand; if more people believe Karelov Maksym will win, the price of shares representing that outcome will increase, and vice versa. This dynamic pricing ensures the market reflects the most up-to-date expectations.

This market resolves around Oct 25, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the official result of the Karelov Maksym vs. Lukianevych Valerii match, as determined by the governing sports organization.
