These markets track the total points scored by both teams in the second half of a college football game, including any overtime periods. Each market has a different threshold for the total points needed to resolve as 'Yes'.
All markets resolve based on the total points scored by both teams in the second half (including overtime) of the Kansas vs TCU college football game scheduled for October 31, 2026. Each market has a specific threshold (ranging from 2.5 to 41.5 points); if the combined second-half points exceed the threshold, the market resolves to Yes. If the game is postponed but starts within 48 hours of the original time, it remains active and resolves based on the final result. If the game does not start within 48 hours, all markets resolve to a fair price. Only points scored in the second half count, and Kalshi is not affiliated with the NCAA.
Generally, prediction market odds tend to reflect the wisdom of the crowd, often incorporating information and analysis beyond what is readily available to traditional sportsbooks. While sportsbook odds are set by professionals, this market allows a broader range of participants to express their beliefs, potentially leading to more accurate predictions. However, sportsbook odds are still a valuable benchmark, and discrepancies can arise due to differing risk assessments and market dynamics. It’s common to see initial differences that narrow as the event approaches.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous double auction, where traders buy and sell contracts representing their beliefs about the outcome. The price of a contract reflects the probability of that outcome occurring. As more traders participate, the price adjusts to reflect the collective expectation. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. Traders are incentivized to provide accurate predictions, as profitable trades are rewarded. The current price indicates what the market believes the total points scored in the second half will be, and it fluctuates based on new information and trading activity.
This market resolves around Oct 31, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The final score of the second half of the Kansas vs TCU game will be used to determine whether the total points scored fall above or below the market’s implied threshold. The resolution will be based on official game statistics, ensuring a transparent and verifiable outcome. Traders will then be able to claim their winnings or adjust their strategies for future events.
Several factors could influence the price of this market. Any news regarding key player injuries for either Kansas or TCU would likely cause significant movement. Changes in weather conditions, particularly if they are expected to impact scoring, could also affect trading activity. Game-day performance in the first half, and strategic adjustments made by the coaches, could further shift expectations. Public sentiment and late-breaking analysis from sports commentators could also contribute to price fluctuations in this market.
