These markets focus on predicting the point differential in the second half of a college football game between Kansas and Kansas State. Each market corresponds to a specific point margin threshold, allowing participants to speculate on whether the winning team will exceed that margin during the second half, including any overtime periods.
All markets resolve based solely on points scored during the second half (including overtime) of the Kansas vs Kansas State college football game scheduled for October 17, 2026. For markets where Kansas State is the potential winner, resolution occurs if Kansas State wins the second half by more than the specified point margin (e.g., over 23.5 points, over 20.5 points, etc.). Conversely, for markets where Kansas is the potential winner, resolution occurs if Kansas wins the second half by more than the specified point margin (e.g., over 2.5 points, over 3.5 points, etc.). If the game is postponed but commences within 48 hours of its original scheduled start time, all markets remain open and resolve based on the official final result of the second half. If the game fails to start within 48 hours of its original scheduled time, all markets resolve to a fair price. No markets consider points scored in the first half of play.
Prediction market odds often reflect the wisdom of the crowd, potentially differing from traditional sportsbook odds due to varying information and incentives. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own analysis and aim to balance action on both sides, while this market allows anyone to express their belief about the outcome. It’s common to see discrepancies, especially as new information emerges or public sentiment shifts. Comparing this market to sportsbook lines can reveal where the crowd believes there’s value or where the sportsbook may be mispricing the event.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order book where traders buy and sell contracts representing different point spreads. The price of each contract reflects the probability of that spread occurring, as determined by supply and demand. Traders are incentivized to provide accurate predictions, as they profit if their beliefs are correct. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price movements are driven by the collective intelligence of the traders participating in the market, creating a dynamic and real-time assessment of the likely outcome.
This market resolves around Oct 17, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the final point spread of the second half of the Kansas State versus Kansas game is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the official result reported by the governing body of college football. Traders holding contracts on the correct spread will receive a payout, while those on incorrect spreads will not. The official result will be the definitive factor in determining the winning contracts.
Several factors could influence the price of this market before it resolves. Any significant news regarding injuries to key players on either the Kansas State or Kansas teams would likely cause movement. Changes in weather conditions, particularly if they are expected to impact the style of play, could also shift the market. Furthermore, in-game performance during the first half, and any adjustments made by the coaches, can all contribute to changes in trader sentiment and, consequently, the price of contracts in this market.
