These markets evaluate different thresholds of points scored in the first quarter of a college football game between Kansas and Kansas State. Each threshold represents a specific point total that, if exceeded, determines the outcome of that particular market.
All markets resolve based on the total points scored by both teams combined during the first quarter of the Kansas vs Kansas State college football game scheduled for October 17, 2026. Each market has a unique threshold: if the combined score exceeds the specified threshold (2.5, 5.5, 7.5, 10.5, 12.5, 13.5, 16.5, 19.5, 20.5, 23.5, or 27.5 points), the market resolves to 'Yes'; otherwise, it resolves to 'No'. Only points scored in the first quarter count. If the game is postponed but starts within 48 hours of the original time, the market remains open and resolves based on the official result. If the game does not start within 48 hours, the market resolves to a fair price. Kalshi is not affiliated with the NCAA, and all trademarks remain the property of their respective owners.
Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd, often differing from initial sportsbook lines. Sportsbooks set odds to balance their risk and ensure profit, while this market allows anyone to trade based on their own analysis. As more information becomes available—like injury reports or weather forecasts—the price of contracts in this market will shift, potentially converging with or diverging from sportsbook odds. It’s common to see prediction markets more accurately forecast probabilities than traditional betting markets, especially closer to the event.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order book where traders buy and sell contracts. Each contract represents a specific outcome for the first quarter total in the Kansas vs Kansas State football game. The price of a contract reflects the probability of that outcome occurring, as perceived by the market participants. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. Traders are incentivized to provide accurate predictions, as they profit from correctly anticipating the outcome. The more traders who believe an outcome is likely, the higher the contract price will climb, and vice versa.
This market resolves around Oct 17, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The final first quarter total from the Kansas vs Kansas State football game will be used to determine which contracts pay out. Contracts predicting a total that matches the actual first quarter score will settle at 100, while others will settle at a lower value based on their proximity to the actual result. The resolution will be based on official game statistics.
Several factors could significantly impact this market. Any news regarding key player injuries for either the Kansas or Kansas State football teams would likely cause a shift in the price. Changes in weather forecasts, particularly if they suggest heavy rain or strong winds, could also influence predictions about scoring. Late-breaking news about coaching strategies or team morale might also move the market. Finally, significant betting activity or large trades on Kalshi itself can create momentum and affect the price of contracts.
