These markets evaluate whether the combined scoring in the final quarter of a college football matchup will exceed various thresholds. The outcome hinges solely on points accumulated during that specific period, with no consideration for overtime or overall game results.
All markets resolve based solely on the total points scored by both teams during the fourth quarter of play (excluding overtime) in the Kansas St. vs Arizona St. college football game scheduled for Oct 24, 2026. Each market has a different threshold: 2.5, 5.5, 7.5, 10.5, 12.5, 13.5, 16.5, 19.5, 20.5, 23.5, or 27.5 points. If the combined fourth-quarter points exceed the respective threshold, the market resolves to Yes; otherwise, it resolves to No. If the game is postponed but starts within 48 hours of the original time, the market remains open and resolves based on the official result. If the game does not start within 48 hours, the market resolves to a fair price. All markets operate independently, with each threshold defining its own resolution criteria.
Prediction market odds often reflect the wisdom of the crowd, potentially offering a different perspective than traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbook odds are typically set by a small team of experts, while this market aggregates the views of many individual traders. It’s common to see discrepancies between the two, especially before significant events or breaking news. Analyzing these differences can provide valuable insights, though it’s important to remember that both represent probabilities, not guarantees, of the final score.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order book where traders buy and sell contracts. The price of a contract represents the probability of the event occurring – in this case, the total points scored in the 4th quarter falling within a specific range. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders buy contracts predicting a certain outcome, the price increases, and vice versa. This dynamic pricing mechanism reflects the collective intelligence of the market participants, constantly adjusting to new information and sentiment.
This market resolves around Oct 24, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the final score of the 4th quarter of the Kansas State vs Arizona State game is verifiable from credible public reporting. The total points scored in the 4th quarter will be compared to the ranges offered in the market to determine which contracts settle at 100, and which settle at 0. This ensures a transparent and objective resolution process based on the official game results.
Several factors could influence the price of this market before it resolves. Any news regarding key player injuries for either Kansas State or Arizona State would likely cause significant movement. Changes in weather conditions, particularly if they are expected to impact scoring, could also shift the market. Additionally, late-breaking news about team strategies or coaching decisions might lead traders to adjust their predictions, impacting the price and volume of contracts traded in this market.
