This market tracks the outcome of an upcoming professional NWSL soccer match between Kansas City and Washington. The focus is on determining whether either team wins the match within the regular 90 minutes plus stoppage time, or if the game ends in a tie under the same conditions.
The event resolves based on the result of the Kansas City vs Washington professional NWSL soccer game originally scheduled for October 25, 2026, after 90 minutes plus stoppage time (excluding extra time or penalty kicks). If Kansas City wins within this timeframe, the 'Kansas City' market resolves to Yes. If Washington wins within the same timeframe, the 'Washington' market resolves to Yes. If the game concludes in a tie after 90 minutes plus stoppage time, the 'Tie' market resolves to Yes. Should the match be cancelled or rescheduled to more than 48 hours beyond the original date, all markets will resolve to a fair price as determined by the platform rules.
Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd, often differing from initial sportsbook lines which are set by oddsmakers. Sportsbooks often incorporate biases or seek to balance their risk, while this market represents a more collective assessment of probabilities. However, as the event approaches and more information becomes available, the odds on Kalshi tend to converge with those found at major sportsbooks. Discrepancies can still exist due to differing market participants and the unique dynamics of each venue.
On Kalshi, this market is priced using a continuous double auction. Traders buy and sell contracts representing different outcomes, and the price of each contract reflects the market's implied probability of that outcome occurring. As more traders participate, the prices adjust to reflect the collective belief of the crowd. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price movements are driven by supply and demand; if many traders believe an outcome is likely, they will bid up the price of contracts representing that outcome, and vice versa. This creates a dynamic and responsive pricing mechanism.
This market resolves around Oct 26, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the official result of the NFL Championship game, determining which team emerges victorious. The platform will verify the result against trusted sources to ensure accuracy and transparency. Traders holding contracts corresponding to the winning team will receive a payout, while those holding contracts for the losing team will not.
Several factors could significantly influence this market. Major player injuries to key players on either team would likely cause shifts in the odds. Unexpected news regarding team strategy or coaching changes could also impact the market. Public sentiment, reflected in polls and media coverage, can also play a role, although this market often demonstrates independent thought. Finally, any significant performance changes observed during regular season games leading up to the championship will be closely watched by traders and could lead to adjustments in the price of contracts.
