Generally, prediction market odds often reflect a more accurate aggregate forecast than traditional sportsbook odds. This is because prediction markets incentivize participants to reveal their true beliefs, while sportsbooks may incorporate a profit margin or be influenced by public biases. However, it’s important to remember that both represent probabilities based on different information and methodologies. Discrepancies can arise due to differing levels of expertise among participants or varying access to information, and the efficiency of this market is constantly evolving as more traders participate.

The price of a contract reflects the probability of that outcome occurring, as determined by supply and demand. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate and new information becomes available, the price adjusts accordingly, providing a dynamic assessment of the event's potential results. The current implied probability of a specific outcome is visible directly on the market page.
