Often, prediction market odds reflect a wisdom-of-the-crowd effect, potentially differing from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and aim to balance action on both sides, incorporating a profit margin. This market, however, is driven purely by traders expressing their beliefs about the outcome. Discrepancies can arise due to differing information, biases, or simply the dynamic nature of a decentralized market. If significant differences exist, it may present opportunities for arbitrage, though transaction costs should be considered.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the outcome. The price of a share directly corresponds to the probability of that outcome occurring, as perceived by the market participants. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders buy shares in a particular outcome, its price increases, reflecting growing confidence. Conversely, selling pressure drives prices down. This dynamic pricing ensures the market constantly reflects the latest information and collective intelligence of the traders.
This market resolves around Oct 11, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the official result of the Kaidakov vs. Pohonov match as reported by the governing sporting body. The platform will verify the result against these sources to determine which outcome is declared the winner. Traders holding shares in the winning outcome will be entitled to a payout based on the final market price at resolution.
Several factors could influence the price of this market before Oct 11, 2026. Any news regarding player injuries, changes in coaching strategies, or unexpected performance in prior matches could shift trader sentiment. Publicly available analysis from sports commentators or analysts could also impact the market. Major upsets in related events or even broader trends in the sport could also play a role.
