Frequently asked questions

Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks often set initial lines based on their own analysis and may incorporate a margin for profit, while this market allows traders to freely adjust probabilities based on new information and diverse perspectives. If sportsbook odds heavily favor one team, but this market shows a more balanced distribution, it could indicate disagreement about the likely outcome. It’s important to remember that both represent probabilities, but they are derived through different mechanisms and may respond to different signals.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism. Traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the probability of each outcome. As more shares are purchased for a particular outcome, its price increases, reflecting a higher perceived chance of occurring. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of a share directly corresponds to the implied probability, allowing traders to express their views and profit if their predictions are accurate. The current market price reflects the collective intelligence of all participants trading on Polymarket.

This market resolves around Nov 7, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Resolution will be based on the official results of the Liiga championship series, determining which team is crowned the champion. The outcome will be determined by the official league standings and playoff results, as publicly announced by the Liiga organization. The market will then settle, and traders will receive payouts based on the final result and their positions in this market.

Several factors could significantly influence this market. Key player injuries, unexpected coaching changes, or shifts in team performance during the playoffs could all lead to changes in trader sentiment. Major upsets in early playoff rounds, or particularly dominant performances by one team, would likely cause a shift in the odds. Any news regarding team morale, strategic adjustments, or external factors impacting team dynamics could also move this market. Monitoring these signals will be crucial for understanding potential price movements before the market resolves.
