Frequently asked questions

Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks often set initial lines based on expert analysis and incorporate a profit margin, while this market allows traders to express their own beliefs about the likelihood of each outcome. If a significant number of traders believe a sportsbook is undervaluing Juventus, for example, the price on Polymarket might move in favor of Juventus scoring first. This dynamic can lead to more accurate probabilities as the event approaches, though discrepancies can still exist due to differing risk appetites and information access.

This market resolves around Nov 1, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Specifically, the market will determine which team – Juventus or Napoli – scores the first goal during the first half of the match. The result will be based on official match data, and the outcome will be determined by the official match report. Any goals scored during stoppage time in the first half will be included in determining the outcome of this market.

Several factors could influence the price of this market before Nov 1, 2026. Late-breaking news regarding key player injuries or suspensions for either Juventus or Napoli would likely have a significant impact. Changes in team formations or tactical approaches announced before the match could also shift trader sentiment. Even broader factors, such as weather conditions or referee assignments, could influence expectations. Finally, any significant shifts in public opinion, perhaps driven by expert analysis or media coverage, could lead to increased trading volume and price movement on Polymarket.
