Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own analysis and incorporate a profit margin, while this market is driven purely by traders’ willingness to buy or sell based on their beliefs. If a significant discrepancy exists, arbitrage opportunities may arise, where traders can profit by simultaneously betting on both the prediction market and a sportsbook. It’s important to note that prediction markets often incorporate information faster than sportsbooks, potentially leading to more accurate probabilities.
