Typically, prediction market odds reflect a wisdom-of-the-crowd assessment, often incorporating information not immediately available to traditional sportsbooks. While sportsbooks set initial lines based on team or player statistics and expert analysis, this market allows for continuous adjustment as new information emerges and more traders participate. Discrepancies can arise due to differing opinions on factors like player form, potential injuries, or even weather conditions. It’s common to see prediction markets offer more nuanced probabilities than standard win/loss odds found at sportsbooks, particularly in events with complex dynamics.
