Issue:

Kalshi settles on spread/margin outcomes (Pittsburgh or Winnipeg winning by specific goal differentials), while Polymarket settles on total goals scored (Over/Under various thresholds) and moneyline winner. These represent fundamentally different betting dimensions on the same game.

Hero Tip:

If you bet on Kalshi, you are predicting margin of victory (e.g., Pittsburgh wins by 2+). If you bet on Polymarket, you are predicting either total combined goals or which team wins. A single game outcome can resolve YES on Kalshi spread markets while resolving Under on Polymarket totals markets, or vice versa. Choose your platform based on whether you want to predict margin, total scoring, or winner.

Critical Divergence Points:

  • Kalshi: Distinct stance: Kalshi resolves on spread/margin outcomes only. All four markets resolve YES if either Pittsburgh wins by over 1.5 goals, Pittsburgh wins by over 2.5 goals, Winnipeg wins by over 1.5 goals, or Winnipeg wins by over 2.5 goals. No moneyline or total-goals markets are offered. Key quote: 'If Pittsburgh wins by over 1.5 goals... then the market resolves to Yes' and 'If Winnipeg wins by over 1.5 goals... then the market resolves to Yes.'
  • Polymarket: Distinct stance: Polymarket resolves on three separate dimensions: (1) total combined goals via four Over/Under markets at 4.5, 5.5, 6.5, and 7.5 thresholds; (2) moneyline winner (Jets vs. Penguins); and (3) spread at Penguins -1.5. Key quote: 'This market will resolve to Over if the Jets and Penguins combine to score 6 or more goals' (5.5 market) and 'If the Jets win, the market will resolve to Jets. If the Penguins win, the market will resolve to Penguins.'
