Frequently asked questions

Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd, often differing from initial sportsbook offerings. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and aim to balance action on both sides, incorporating a profit margin. This market, however, is driven by traders who are incentivized to accurately predict the outcome, leading to potentially more efficient pricing. While sportsbooks may initially have a different perspective, the odds on Polymarket can converge with sportsbook lines as more information becomes available and the event approaches. It’s important to compare both to gain a comprehensive view.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the likelihood of each outcome. The price of a share directly corresponds to the implied probability of that outcome occurring. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. Currently, the market indicates a strong expectation for one particular outcome, as evidenced by the trading activity. Traders are constantly adjusting their positions based on new information and their own analysis, which dynamically updates the probabilities reflected in the share prices. This creates a real-time assessment of the potential result.

The platform will verify the result against official match data to determine the winning share and distribute payouts accordingly.
