Typically, prediction market odds reflect a wisdom-of-the-crowd perspective, often differing from initial sportsbook offerings. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action and incorporate a profit margin, while this market aggregates diverse opinions. If a significant discrepancy exists, arbitrage opportunities may arise for informed traders. However, it’s common to see convergence as new information becomes available and more people participate in this market. Keep in mind that sportsbook odds are influenced by factors like public betting patterns and house biases, which may not be present in a purely predictive market.
