Frequently asked questions

Prediction market odds often reflect a different kind of wisdom than those found at sportsbooks. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action and incorporate a profit margin, while this market represents the collective intelligence of informed traders. It’s common to see discrepancies between the two, particularly when a significant amount of information isn’t widely known or when there’s strong disagreement about future events. These differences can create opportunities for arbitrage, as traders attempt to profit from mispricings between the two types of markets. Analyzing these differences can be a valuable exercise for anyone interested in forecasting.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism. Traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the likelihood of a particular outcome. As more shares are traded, the price adjusts to reflect the changing consensus. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of a share directly corresponds to the implied probability of that outcome occurring. For example, a share trading at 40 means there's a 40% implied probability of that outcome. The market's efficiency depends on the number of participants and the information they bring to bear.

This market resolves around Oct 14, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the official result of the Ivnytskyi vs. Kolos match, as reported by official sources. The platform will verify the result against these sources to determine which outcome corresponds to the actual event. The final price of the shares will reflect the outcome, with winning shares paying out $1 and losing shares becoming worthless. This ensures a clear and transparent resolution process.

Several factors could influence the price of shares in this market leading up to Oct 14, 2026. Any news regarding player injuries, team form, or changes in coaching staff could significantly shift expectations. Unexpected weather conditions or referee announcements could also play a role. Furthermore, large trades by influential market participants can create short-term price movements. Monitoring these signals and analyzing their potential impact is crucial for anyone looking to trade in this market. Public sentiment and expert analysis can also contribute to price fluctuations.
