Frequently asked questions

Prediction market odds often reflect the collective wisdom of a diverse group of traders, potentially differing from those set by sportsbooks. Sportsbooks establish lines based on their own models and to balance action on both sides of a bet, whereas this market is driven purely by individuals’ beliefs about the outcome. Discrepancies can arise due to differing information, biases, or simply varying interpretations of the same data. It’s common to see prediction markets move independently of sportsbook lines, especially as new information becomes available before the event.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism, where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the outcome. The price of a share directly corresponds to the probability of that outcome occurring, as perceived by the market participants. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate and new information emerges, the price will fluctuate, reflecting the evolving consensus. The current implied probability of a particular outcome is determined by the share price relative to 1; a share priced at 0.60 suggests a 60% probability.

This market resolves around Oct 31, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the official result of the Ivnytskyi vs. Fastov match as reported by the governing sports body. The platform will verify the result against reliable sources to determine the winning outcome and distribute funds to those who correctly predicted the result. Traders should monitor official sources for updates as the resolution date approaches.

Several factors could influence the price of this market before Oct 31, 2026. Any news regarding player injuries, changes in team strategy, or even weather conditions could shift trader sentiment. Unexpected announcements about the players' form or any controversies surrounding the match could also cause significant price movement. Public opinion, as reflected in polls or expert analysis, might also play a role, though the market is ultimately driven by individual trading decisions and not external forecasts.
