Frequently asked questions

Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and need to account for profit margins, while this market is driven by traders directly expressing their beliefs about the outcome. If a significant discrepancy exists, it might indicate that the market perceives information differently than sportsbooks, or that there are differing opinions on the relative strengths of the teams involved. It’s always valuable to compare both to form a well-rounded view.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the outcome of the second half. The price of a share directly reflects the probability of that outcome occurring, as determined by supply and demand. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders buy shares in a particular outcome, its price increases, and vice versa. This dynamic pricing allows the market to quickly incorporate new information and adjust its predictions accordingly, reflecting the collective intelligence of the participants.

This market resolves around Oct 17, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The result will be based on which team wins the second half of the match between Ōita Trinita and Albirex Niigata. Official match data from the J1 League will be used to determine the winning team for the second half. The resolution process is designed to be transparent and rely on publicly available information, ensuring a fair and accurate outcome for all participants in this market.

Several factors could influence trading activity in this market.
