Description

This market refers to the cricket match between Namibia and Ireland scheduled for October 24 2026 at 4:00 AM ET in Ireland Tour of Namibia ODIs. DLS/DRS, over-rate penalties, forfeit/walkover, or any other on-field ruling that leads the competition to declare a winner are treated as ordinary wins. If the match ends tied and the playing conditions provide an on-field tiebreak (e.g., Super Over), the winner determined by that tiebreak will be used for resolution. If the match ends tied and no on-field tiebreak is used or available under the playing conditions (e.g., group-stage ODI with no Super Over), the market will resolve 50-50. If the match is postponed/rescheduled, the market remains open until the listed fixture is completed. If the match is permanently canceled or abandoned or otherwise is completed without a winner, the market resolves 50-50. The primary resolution source for this market is the official statistics of the event as recognized by the governing body or event organizers. However, if the governing body or event organizers have not published final match statistics within 2 hours after the event's conclusion, a consensus of credible reporting may be used instead.

Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd, often differing from initial sportsbook lines. Sportsbooks set odds based on their own models and aim to balance action on both sides, while this market allows anyone to trade based on their own insights. As more information becomes available – such as team news or weather forecasts – the odds on Polymarket may converge or diverge from sportsbook offerings. It’s common to see prediction markets more accurately forecast probabilities as the event approaches, especially when a significant amount of volume is traded.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the likelihood of a particular outcome. The price of a share directly corresponds to the implied probability of that outcome occurring. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market’s price fluctuates based on supply and demand; if more traders believe Ireland will win, the price of shares representing that outcome will increase, and vice versa. This dynamic pricing reflects the collective intelligence of the traders participating in the market.

This market resolves around Oct 31, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Resolution will be based on the official results of the Ireland-Namibia ODI series, as declared by the governing body of international cricket. The market will determine which team, if any, wins the series based on the official match results. The final outcome will be determined by the series winner, and the platform will verify this information against publicly available sources.

Several factors could significantly impact this market. Any news regarding key player injuries or changes in team lineups for either Ireland or Namibia would likely cause shifts in the odds. Weather forecasts, particularly if they predict disruptions to play, could also influence trading activity. Unexpected results in warm-up matches or other relevant ODI series might also lead to adjustments in the market’s probabilities. Finally, significant public sentiment shifts, reflected in media coverage or social media, could also move the market.
