In the upcoming match between Ipswich Town FC and AFC Bournemouth, scheduled for November 8, 2026 at 9:00 AM ET: This market will resolve to "Ipswich Town FC" if Ipswich Town FC are the first to score in the second half (second half of regular play plus second-half stoppage time). This market will resolve to "AFC Bournemouth" if AFC Bournemouth are the first to score in the second half (second half of regular play plus second-half stoppage time). If neither team scores in the second half (second half of regular play plus second-half stoppage time), this market will resolve to "Neither". If the game is postponed, this market will remain open until the game has been completed. If the game is canceled entirely, with no make-up game, this market will resolve to "Neither". This market refers only to goals scored within the second half of regular play plus second-half stoppage time. First-half goals, extra time, and penalty shoot-outs are excluded. Recognizable abbreviations, alternate or erroneous spellings, sponsor names, regional identifiers, and minor formatting differences in a team's or player's name will not affect resolution, provided the intended team or player can be clearly and uniquely identified as a participant in the listed fixture or competition. If a listed name has no reasonable connection to any participant, or could reasonably refer to more than one participant such that the intended team or player cannot be determined, this market will resolve as it would if the listed fixture had been canceled entirely; a listed participant who cannot be identified does not count as inactive or absent. The primary resolution source for this market will be official match information from Premier League (https://www.premierleague.com/). If the governing body or event organizers have not published final statistics within 2 hours of the event's conclusion, data from Flashscore may be used; if Flashscore data is unavailable, data from Sofascore may be used; if neither is available, a consensus of credible reporting may be used. Revisions to officially declared final scores made after market resolution will not be accounted for in determining the outcome. If no acceptable data is available within 24 hours of the event's conclusion, this market will resolve 50-50, or to "Draw" where applicable.

Typically, prediction market odds offer a different perspective than those found at traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks often incorporate a ‘vig’ or commission into their odds, representing their profit margin. This market, driven by the collective wisdom of traders, aims to reflect the true probability of an event occurring. While sportsbooks may initially set odds based on statistical models and expert opinions, prediction markets can quickly adjust based on new information and diverse viewpoints. It’s common to see discrepancies, especially as the event approaches and more information becomes available.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism. Traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in each outcome – either Ipswich Town FC or AFC Bournemouth scoring first in the second half. As more shares are purchased for a particular outcome, its price increases, reflecting a higher probability. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of a share directly corresponds to the implied probability of that outcome occurring. This dynamic pricing ensures that the market odds constantly adapt to the latest information and trader sentiment. The current implied probability of Ipswich Town FC scoring first is 47.5%.
This market resolves around Nov 8, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Specifically, the market will determine which team, Ipswich Town FC or AFC Bournemouth, scores the first goal in the second half of the match. The result will be based on official match data and verified against credible public sources. Any goals scored during extra time or a penalty shootout will not be considered for the purposes of this market’s resolution.
Several factors could influence the odds in this market. Any news regarding player injuries or suspensions for either Ipswich Town FC or AFC Bournemouth would likely cause shifts. Tactical changes announced by either manager, such as a change in formation or starting lineup, could also impact predictions. Furthermore, live game events during the first half, like a red card or early goal, could significantly alter the perceived probabilities. Even broader factors, like weather conditions on match day, could play a role in how traders assess the likelihood of each team scoring first in the second half.
