This event tracks how many touchdowns are scored by players catching passes in an upcoming college football game. It focuses specifically on offensive plays where a player gains points by catching a ball in the end zone, excluding other scoring methods.
All markets resolve based on the total number of receiving touchdowns scored by either Iowa or Washington in their game scheduled for October 9, 2026, including any overtime periods. A receiving touchdown is defined as a touchdown where the player who catches the pass scores himself; touchdowns where another player recovers a fumble and scores do not count, unless the original receiving player recovers their own fumble and scores. Successful two-point conversions, regardless of when they occur, are excluded from all counts. If the game is postponed but starts within 48 hours of its original time, all markets remain open and resolve based on the final official result. If the game does not start within 48 hours of its scheduled time, all markets resolve to a fair price. Kalshi explicitly states it is not affiliated with the NCAA, and all team names and logos remain the property of their respective owners.
Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks often set initial lines to balance action, while this market’s prices are driven purely by supply and demand from traders who are incentivized to accurately forecast the outcome. If a significant discrepancy exists between this market and sportsbook lines, it may indicate differing opinions on the probability of specific teams scoring touchdowns, or potentially differing levels of information available to each group. It’s a useful comparison point for informed analysis.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell contracts representing each possible outcome. The price of a contract indicates the probability of that outcome occurring, as perceived by the market participants. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate and new information becomes available, the prices adjust dynamically, reflecting the collective forecast. The market’s depth – the volume of contracts available at different price points – also provides insight into the level of confidence traders have in each outcome.
This market resolves around Oct 10, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Resolution will be based on which teams actually score touchdowns during the Iowa versus Washington football game. The official game results, as reported by a trusted sports data source, will determine which contracts pay out and which do not. The platform will verify the outcome against these sources to ensure an accurate and transparent resolution process.
Several factors could influence the prices in this market leading up to the game. Any news regarding key player injuries for either Iowa or Washington would likely have a significant impact, as would updates on weather conditions that could affect the teams’ offensive strategies. Changes in public perception, reflected in polls or expert analysis, could also shift the market. Finally, as the game draws closer, any late-breaking news or strategic adjustments announced by the coaches could cause prices to move as traders react to the new information.
