This set of markets tracks how many points are scored in the final quarter of a college football game between Iowa and Washington. Each market has a different threshold for the total points scored by both teams combined during that specific period. The outcome depends solely on the game's 4th quarter scoring, excluding any overtime periods.
All markets resolve based on the total points scored by both teams in the 4th quarter (excluding overtime) of the Iowa vs Washington college football game scheduled for October 9, 2026. Each market has a specific threshold: if the combined 4th quarter points exceed the threshold (2.5, 5.5, 7.5, 10.5, 12.5, 13.5, 16.5, 19.5, 20.5, 23.5, or 27.5 points), the market resolves to Yes; otherwise, it resolves to No. If the game is postponed but starts within 48 hours of the original time, the markets remain open and resolve based on the final result. If the game does not start within 48 hours, all markets resolve to a fair price. Only points scored during the standard 4th quarter count; overtime points are excluded from all calculations.
Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and aim to balance action on both sides, while this market aggregates the diverse perspectives of many individual traders. If sportsbook odds suggest a clear favorite, this market might show a more nuanced expectation, especially if there's significant uncertainty or disagreement among traders about the potential outcome. It's common to see differences, as each represents a distinct form of forecasting.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order book where traders buy and sell contracts representing their beliefs about the 4th quarter total. The price of a contract indicates the probability of that specific total occurring. As more traders buy contracts for a particular outcome, the price increases, and vice versa. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. This dynamic pricing mechanism allows the market to quickly incorporate new information and adjust expectations as the game approaches, reflecting the collective intelligence of those participating.
This market resolves around Oct 10, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the final score of the Iowa vs Washington 4th quarter is verifiable from credible public reporting. The total points scored in the 4th quarter, as officially recorded by game officials, will determine the winning contracts. There is no need to follow specific sources; the outcome will be determined based on widely available and accepted game data. Traders should monitor official results following the game’s conclusion to understand the final settlement.
Several factors could influence the price of contracts in this market. Any news regarding player injuries to key offensive players on either the Iowa or Washington teams would likely cause movement. Changes in weather conditions, particularly if they are expected to significantly impact scoring, could also shift expectations. Additionally, late-breaking news about coaching strategies or team morale could influence trader sentiment. As the game draws closer, even minor updates can lead to price fluctuations as traders refine their predictions.
