These markets focus on the final quarter performance of a college football game between Iowa and Washington, tracking how much one team outscores the other specifically in the 4th quarter. Outcomes depend entirely on the point differential achieved during that last quarter of regulation play.
All markets resolve based solely on points scored during the 4th quarter of regulation play in the Iowa vs Washington college football game scheduled for October 9, 2026, excluding any overtime periods. For markets specifying Washington winning by more than a set margin (e.g., 1.5, 2.5, 3.5, 6.5, 7.5, or 10.5 points), the market resolves to Yes only if Washington’s 4th quarter points exceed Iowa’s by more than that exact margin. Conversely, for markets specifying Iowa winning by more than a set margin (e.g., 2.5, 3.5, 6.5, 7.5, or 10.5 points), the market resolves to Yes only if Iowa’s 4th quarter points exceed Washington’s by more than that margin. If the game is postponed but commences within 48 hours of its original scheduled start time, all markets remain open and resolve based on the official final result of that game. If the game does not start within 48 hours of its scheduled time, all markets resolve to a fair price, meaning they settle at a value reflecting the probable outcome had the game been played, determined through Kalshi’s internal pricing mechanisms.
Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and often incorporate a margin for profit, while this market allows traders to express their own independent assessments. If a significant discrepancy exists between this market and sportsbook odds, it may signal that the crowd believes the sportsbook is mispricing the event. However, it's important to remember that both represent probabilities, and neither is guaranteed to be accurate. It's a matter of where the collective intelligence lies.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism. Traders buy and sell contracts representing different point spreads for the fourth quarter of the Iowa vs Washington game. The price of each contract reflects the probability of that spread occurring, as determined by supply and demand. As more traders buy contracts for a particular spread, the price increases, indicating a higher perceived probability. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market dynamically adjusts to new information and changing sentiment, providing a real-time assessment of the likely outcome. This creates a fluid and responsive pricing system.
This market resolves around Oct 10, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the final point spread of the fourth quarter of the Iowa vs Washington game is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the official result reported by a recognized sports data provider. The platform will then determine which contracts settle at a value of 100, representing the winning spread, and pay out accordingly to contract holders. The resolution process ensures a transparent and objective determination of the market's outcome.
Several factors could influence the price of this market. Any news regarding injuries to key players on either the Iowa or Washington teams would likely have a significant impact. Changes in weather forecasts, particularly if they are expected to affect the game's conditions, could also move the market. Furthermore, any shifts in public sentiment, as reflected by expert analysis or betting trends, could influence trader behavior and subsequently the price. Unexpected coaching decisions or strategic adjustments announced before the game could also contribute to price fluctuations.
