This set of markets tracks how many points are scored in a specific quarter of a college football game between Iowa and Minnesota. Participants predict whether the combined score will exceed various thresholds, offering different levels of difficulty for forecasting the game's intensity in that quarter.
All markets resolve based on the total points scored by both teams during the third quarter of the Iowa vs Minnesota college football game scheduled for October 24, 2026. Each market has a specific threshold: if the combined third-quarter points exceed that threshold, the market resolves to Yes; otherwise, it resolves to No. Only points scored during the third quarter count. If the game is postponed but starts within 48 hours of the original time, the market remains open and resolves based on the actual result. If the game does not start within 48 hours of the scheduled time, all markets resolve to a fair price. Prediction market odds often reflect the collective wisdom of informed traders, and can sometimes differ from those offered by sportsbooks. Sportsbooks set initial lines to balance betting action, while this market allows participants to directly express their beliefs about the probability of different outcomes. Discrepancies can arise due to differing information, biases, or simply variations in how each assesses the likelihood of events. It’s common to see prediction markets move more efficiently as new information becomes available, potentially offering a more accurate forecast than traditional odds.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order book where traders buy and sell contracts representing their predictions. The price of a contract indicates the probability of that outcome occurring, with higher prices suggesting greater confidence. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. Traders can place limit orders to buy or sell at specific prices, or market orders to execute trades immediately at the best available price. The market depth, displayed on the dashboard, shows the volume of contracts available at different price points, giving insight into the level of support and resistance.
This market resolves around Oct 24, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the total points scored in the third quarter of the Iowa vs Minnesota game is verifiable from credible public reporting. The final score will be sourced from official game statistics and used to determine whether the total points scored exceeded or fell short of the market’s implied threshold. The resolution process is designed to be transparent and based on objective data, ensuring a fair and accurate outcome for all participants in this market.
Several factors could influence the price of contracts in this market. Any news regarding player injuries to key offensive players on either the Iowa or Minnesota teams could significantly shift expectations. Changes in weather conditions, particularly if they are expected to impact scoring, could also play a role. In-game performance during the first and second quarters, such as a dominant offensive showing by one team, could lead traders to adjust their predictions and move the market accordingly. Unexpected coaching decisions or strategic adjustments could also contribute to price fluctuations.
