These markets track the total points scored by both teams in the first quarter of an upcoming college football game. Each market has a different threshold for the total points needed to resolve as 'Yes'.
All markets resolve based on the total points scored by both Iowa and Minnesota in the first quarter of their college football game scheduled for October 24, 2026. Each market has a specific threshold (ranging from over 2.5 points to over 27.5 points); if the combined score exceeds the threshold, the market resolves to 'Yes.' Only points scored during the first quarter count. If the game is postponed but starts within 48 hours of the original time, the markets remain open and resolve based on the official result. If the game does not start within 48 hours, all markets resolve to a fair price. Kalshi is not affiliated with the NCAA, and all trademarks belong to their respective owners.
Prediction market odds often reflect the wisdom of the crowd, potentially differing from initial sportsbook lines which are often set by analysts. Sportsbooks may initially emphasize public perception or biases, while this market aggregates diverse opinions as traders buy and sell contracts. Over time, the prices here can converge with sportsbook odds as more information becomes available and the event approaches. However, discrepancies can persist due to differing market participants and information access. It’s common to see this market incorporate unique insights not immediately reflected in traditional betting lines.
This market resolves around Oct 24, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The final point total scored in the first quarter of the Iowa versus Minnesota game will be used to determine whether the 'over' or 'under' contracts will pay out. The official game statistics, as reported by a trusted sports data source, will serve as the basis for verifying the result. Traders will be able to see the final outcome reflected in their account balances shortly after the game concludes and the official statistics are released.
Several factors could influence the price of contracts in this market. News regarding key player injuries for either Iowa or Minnesota would likely cause significant movement. Changes in weather conditions, particularly if they are expected to impact scoring, could also shift prices. Late-breaking news about coaching strategies or team morale might also play a role. Even public sentiment, as reflected in social media or expert analysis, can influence trading activity and, consequently, the price of contracts in this market.
