This market focuses on determining which team will score more points in a specific quarter of a college football game between Iowa State and Arizona. It highlights the competitive nature of individual game segments rather than the overall result, allowing participants to assess short-term team performance.
The market resolves based on which team scores more points in the second quarter of the Iowa State vs. Arizona college football game scheduled for October 24, 2026. If Arizona scores more points in that quarter, the Arizona market resolves to Yes. If Iowa State scores more points, its market resolves to Yes. If both teams score an equal number of points, the Tie market resolves to Yes. For all markets, only points scored during the second quarter count. If the game is postponed but starts within 48 hours of the original time, the market remains open and resolves based on the official result. If the game does not start within 48 hours, all markets resolve to a fair price. Kalshi is not affiliated with the NCAA, and all trademarks belong to their respective owners.
Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd, often differing from initial sportsbook lines. Sportsbooks set odds based on their own models and aim to balance action on both sides, while this market aggregates the beliefs of many individual traders. As more information becomes available – such as injury reports or weather forecasts – and as the event draws nearer, the odds on Kalshi may converge with, or diverge from, sportsbook odds depending on how that information is interpreted by market participants. It's common to see prediction markets outperform traditional odds-makers.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous double auction. Traders buy and sell contracts representing each possible outcome – in this case, either Iowa State or Arizona winning the second quarter. The price of each contract reflects the market’s probability of that outcome occurring. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As traders exchange contracts, the prices fluctuate, providing a real-time assessment of expectations. The closer the event gets, the more the price will reflect the perceived likelihood of each team winning the second quarter.
This market resolves around Oct 25, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The team leading at the end of the second quarter of the Iowa State versus Arizona game will be declared the winner of this market. Resolution will be based on official game statistics and verified against credible public sources. Traders holding contracts for the winning team will receive a payout, while those holding contracts for the losing team will not.
Several factors could significantly impact this market. Any news regarding key player injuries for either Iowa State or Arizona would likely cause price fluctuations. Unexpected changes in weather conditions could also influence the game and, consequently, the market. Furthermore, significant shifts in public perception – perhaps driven by expert analysis or updated statistical models – could lead to increased trading volume and price adjustments. Finally, in-game performance during the first quarter could also provide signals that move this market as traders react to early momentum.
