Generally, prediction market odds often reflect a wisdom-of-the-crowd effect, potentially offering a more accurate forecast than traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks incorporate a profit margin into their odds, while this market allows traders to directly assess the probability of each exact score. However, sportsbook odds can still be a useful data point for comparison, especially when considering public perception and potential biases. Differences between prediction market probabilities and sportsbook odds may indicate areas where the market believes the sportsbook is mispricing the event or where public sentiment is heavily influencing the sportsbook's lines.
