Prediction market odds, like those found on Polymarket and Predict, often reflect a different kind of information than traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks incorporate a 'vig' or commission into their lines, aiming to profit regardless of the outcome. Prediction markets, conversely, are driven by individuals betting directly against each other, theoretically resulting in more accurate probabilities as they represent collective belief. However, sportsbook odds benefit from the expertise of professional oddsmakers and sophisticated modeling. For this market, comparing the implied probabilities from both sources can reveal discrepancies and potential value opportunities.
