This market focuses on predicting which team’s defense will score the first touchdown in an upcoming football game. It includes scenarios where either defense scores first or no touchdown is scored at all during the game.
The market determines whether the Indianapolis Colts defense (IND Colts D/ST), the Jacksonville Jaguars defense (JAC Jaguars D/ST), or neither defense scores the first touchdown in the professional football game scheduled for November 1, 2026. If either defense scores the first touchdown, the corresponding market resolves to Yes. If no touchdowns are scored by either defense—or if no touchdowns are scored in the game—the No Touchdown market resolves to Yes, and all other player markets resolve to No. Special rules apply if a defense is active but does not take a snap, in which case the market settles to the fair market price before the game starts. Once a defense takes at least one snap, the outcome is determined solely by whether they score the first touchdown. Touchdowns scored by offensive teams on fake punts or field goals do not count toward these markets.
On Kalshi, this market is priced using a continuous double auction, meaning traders like you set the odds by placing buy and sell orders. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price reflects the collective belief of all participants regarding the probability of each outcome. As more traders buy contracts on a particular player, the price for that outcome increases, indicating a higher perceived chance of them scoring first. Conversely, selling contracts lowers the price. The market dynamically adjusts to incorporate new information and changing opinions, offering a real-time assessment of probabilities.
This market resolves around Nov 2, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Specifically, the outcome will be determined by identifying which player or team legally crosses the goal line first to score a touchdown, as officially recorded by game officials. The resolution will be based on the official game statistics and play-by-play account. Any scoring plays subject to review will be settled based on the final ruling of the game officials.
Several factors could significantly shift the odds in this market. Any news regarding player injuries, particularly to key offensive players or the starting quarterback for either team, would likely cause substantial movement. Changes in weather forecasts, such as heavy rain or strong winds, could also influence expectations about the game plan and scoring opportunities. Late-breaking news about team strategies or coaching decisions could also impact trader sentiment. Finally, any significant shifts in public perception, perhaps driven by expert analysis, could also move this market.
